Welcome to the St. Matthew Religious Formation Program!
We are committed to providing quality religious education and preparation for sacraments. Thank you for your trust in our program to provide your children with this essential gift.
While we look forward to sharing our Catholic faith, we believe that you as parents have a primary role in the religious education of your children and ask for your involvement and cooperation in their spiritual journey.
Classes meet on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-7:45 p.m., from August through April/May. A schedule of exact dates can be found on this web site.
Sacrament preparation for First Communion and First Reconciliation normally takes place in the 2nd grade. Confirmation preparation is a two-year process, being offered during 7th and 8th grades. If your child is past these grade levels but has not received a sacrament, please contact the Religious Formation Director, Jill Muench, to make arrangements.
Registration for classes is usually completed by July. You may register your child at other times, but late registration may result in an additional fee as well as a waiting period for curriculum books. You are expected to be registered as a member of St. Matthew Parish to participate in classes.
The Religious Formation program is staffed by volunteers. Therefore, parents are encouraged to volunteer in one of the following areas: teacher; teacher aide; prayer person; or building supervisor.
Parking lot and traffic control are provided by the Knights of Columbus. Thank You to all of the Knights who support the Religious Formation program.
